6th Anniversary Celebration at Kamanga 04 May 2006
Sharm Women said NO to terrorism! On the 4 th of May Sharm Women celebrated their 6th Annual SWC Anniversary.
We have said YES!! YES to the celebration of life - YES to the future - YES to hope - NO to fear and terrorism!
The evening started at 19.30 with a welcome drink in the KAMANGA Lounge Restaurant on Peace Road, next to Fun Town, in a festive atmosphere of a cool Lounge Restaurant with nice chill-out music, candle light and flower decoration (offered by Violette & Lillies, located where the old Super Jet bus stop was before, just before the turn to Old Sharm)
Most ladies were very pleasantly surprised to find such a fabulous place right on their door step in Naama. It has been totally redecorated and the concept is a completely different one from whatever ideas you might have had of the place before. It’s a secluded, intimate place, half open air and half inside, with an upper terrace lounge setting looking out over Peace Road, smoothly run by the owners Nicola and husband Hazz and their team.
The party got immediately on the way with a People’s Bingo, permitting everybody to mingle at ease as we had to fill out 10 questions, to be answered by 10 different persons.
Before dinner Sophie made the welcome speech not forgetting to remember the victims of the recent Dahab bombings and victims of terrorism anywhere in the world. The women joined hands and observed a minute of silence. After the speech the buffet dinner was opened with a lot of good food, especially a lot of sea food. Bravo to the Kamanga Team! The desserts, big cakes, have been offered by Makeni Bakery, the Hyatt Hotel, the Savoy Hotel and the Marriott Bakery. Thank you, it was very, very nice!
After dinner the ladies were set to “work”, to compete for a first prize in the Lucky Draw as we had managed once again fantastic vouchers from all over town, Egypt and Jordan. Several hotel vouchers in Sharm, Cairo, El Quseir,Luxor, Petra and Dead Sea Jordan, beauty packages, hair dressers, restaurant vouchers, excursions, shop vouchers and discount vouchers for the super market and optical shop. Many, many thanks to our Sponsors (see list below) for making once again our party such a success and memorable one!!
And what we had to do as work? Karaoke singing! A hilarious affair, with lots of laughter and talent (!) not to forget.
All 60!! women went home with a voucher and a small bunch of flowers after an evening well spent! An evening made possible by the hard work of the organization Team: Simone, Alexandra, Doro, Martina, Bea, Nicola and Sophie.
